Dear Friends,
I'm excited to share two things at once! First, the premiere video of my piece Why Did the Child Laugh While Dreaming? for harp and violin is now out. The piece was inspired by observing my son's facial expressions while he sleeps and imagining his pre-verbal inner world, alongside an eponymously titled poem by Lea Goldberg. Many thanks to the wonderful performer-mentors who brought it to life: Hyeyung Sol Yoon (violin) and Jennifer Ellis (harp).
Watch it here.

I also wrote a blog post for the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music reflecting on the experience of writing this piece during my residency there — exploring the idea of "workshopping," and digging into the Hebrew and Aramaic roots of the word.
